Abstract

Morphological errors are often found in the writing of student papers and can affect the accuracy of the use of the Indonesian language. This study aims to describe the forms of morphological errors contained in two student papers and explain the form of correction based on standard Indonesian rules. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with data sources in the form of two student papers. The research data is in the form of words, phrases, and language forms that contain morphological errors. Data collection techniques are carried out through documentation methods and read-record techniques, while data analysis is carried out by identifying, classifying, and describing the errors found. The results of the study showed that the morphological errors found included affixation and reduplication errors. Affixation errors include writing the prefix di- which is separated from the root word, incorrect use of the prefix di, as well as phoneme misspellings in the prefix meN-. The reduplication errors are in the form of double locking and the ineffective use of reshapes in a variety of scientific languages. Of the overall data, affixation errors were the most dominant type of error found. The findings of the study show that students' understanding of the rules of word formation still needs to be improved. Therefore, the mastery of morphological aspects needs to be strengthened to improve the quality of writing scientific papers in accordance with the rules of the standard Indonesian language.
